Club Penguin was a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) targeted towards children, developed by New Horizon Interactive and published by Disney Interactive Media Group. The game was released in 2005 and quickly became popular, with over 200 million registered users at its peak. Club Penguin was a virtual world where players could create and customize their own penguin avatars, play games, chat with other players, and buy virtual items.
To buy things in Club Penguin, players needed to use Coins, the game’s virtual currency. Coins could be earned by playing games, completing tasks, or by purchasing them with real-world money. Once players had enough Coins, they could visit the in-game shops to buy a variety of items, including clothing, furniture, and accessories for their penguins.
