The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a federally funded nutrition program that provides healthy food, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support to low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, and to infants and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk. WIC is available in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa.
To apply for WIC in California, you must meet certain eligibility requirements. You must be a California resident, and you must meet income guidelines. You must also be pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding, or you must have an infant or child under the age of 5.
